I am dedicated to vessel making. The bowl has to be a metaphor. It is a great mystery. It can symbolise the world, the womb, the sky; It can be a transmitter or receiver. It is a form, made throughout history, by crafts-people. They have wrestled with the same thoughts that I have. I feel connected to human history through the working of the bowl.
